BÓKADAGAR 2026: Book Launch

Javnaðarflokkurin turns 100 years.
To mark the occasion, the party is publishing a collection of essays in which 24 authors look back at events and people from the party’s history.
Through articles, portraits and numerous photographs, the book opens up a century of political history. It is a story about ideas and power. About victories and defeats. About people who wanted to change society - and who were themselves changed by it.
The Red Thread does not tell the whole story. But it helps us understand it.
The 24 authors who have contributed the 26 articles in the collection are: Arnbjørn Ó. Dalsgarð, Barbara Gaardlykke Apol, Benny Ernstsson Lervig, Bergur Berg, Bergur Djurhuus Hansen, Eyðgunn Samuelsen, Fróði Jacobsen, Gestur Hovgaard, Hans Andrias Sølvará, Hans Jørgensen, Helgi Eidesgaard, Ingibjørg Berg, Ivan Hentze Niclasen, Jens Arni Leo Hammerfoss, Jens Pauli Nolsøe, Jóhann Mortensen, Jóna Ólavsdóttir, Kári Jespersen, Kristianna Winther Poulsen, Páll Nolsøe, Rigmor Restorff Dam, Sjúrður Skaale, Turið Nolsøe and Uni Holm Johannesen.
Aksel V. Johannesen will say a few words, and the two editors, Rigmor Restorff Dam and Helgi Eidesgaard, will talk about the project. Representatives of the authors will also be present.
